RESOLVED, that the 225th Convention of the Diocese of Maryland, meeting May 1-2, 2009 reaffirms its support for the liturgical commemoration of the life and ministry of Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall on May 17th as a way to celebrate the relatively peaceful end to legal racial segregation and the improvement of relations between Americans of various colors, and be it further RESOLVED, that this Convention urges all parishes and congregations to join in diocesan commemorations and to find local ways to remember and highlight Marshall's contributions to a more just society.
